The rail industry took a key step in the delivery of its 30 year division with the development of the Rail Technical Strategy Capability Delivery Plan (RTS CDP).
Created to provide a railway fit for current and future demands with the flexibility to respond to the changing expectations of both passenger and freight customers, the RTS broke the industry vision down into six key themes and three cross cutting areas. The capability delivery plan represents the next key step towards the delivery of the vision. It breaks the RTS vision down into twelve key capabilities and then identifies the priority activities which need to happen now and over the course of the next 25 years to achieve those capabilities.
The Work Package Owners will each head the delivery of one / two of the capabilities. The ten now in place are:
