Next Generation Rail: Inspiring the Future of Rail Professionals
15-16 July 2013, London

RRUKA hosted the first Next Generation Rail conference in June 2013 at The Crystal, London. (Did you miss the conference? Read more about it here).

The event attracted over 100 delegates from 43 different institutions and organisations who put their heads together and came up with some inspiring ways to encourage other young people to choose rail, as well as share information about projects they were working on and their experiences in the rail industry so far.

Next Generation Rail: From seed to success…
11-13 June 2014

In 2014 RRUKA partnered with Future Railway and the Young Rail Professionals (YRP) to produce the second annual Next Generation Rail conference at the Museum of Science and Industry (MOSI), in Manchester.  (Read the article here)

Almost 200 participants from over 50 organisations from across the industry took part in the busy two-day event.

This time the focus was on collaboration, innovation and professional development. Attendees attended a number of SkillShops, i.e. skill-focussed workshops led by topic experts where they had the opportunity to enhance a range of soft skills and learn how to best put the min practise in their day-to-day job. Topics included: communications, intellectual property, innovation, writing successful proposals, developing relationships and horizon scanning techniques.
