Meet our keynote speakers:

Kathrin Obst, European Commission

Kathrin joined the European Commission’s rail unit in DG MOVE in April 2015. She has a background in the transport sector, where she worked as Director of the European Federation of Inland Ports between 2013 and 2015 and for the Community of European Railway and Infrastructure Companies (CER) from 2011 to 2013.



Neil Robertson, NSARE
In July 2015 Neil will become CEO of the National Skills Academy for Railway Engineering.
He spent the previous three years as CEO of the Energy & Utility Skills Group, where he led and secured a £55m collaboration bid in energy and utilities aimed at diversifying the workforce and filling vacancies.
Prior to this he was Director of Training at Babcock International, after having had a senior career in frontline government departments including DfES and DIUS (now BIS) where he had responsibility for basic skills, employability, qualifications, adult learning, ESOL and migration. Neil has also worked in the Government Office North East and with City & Guilds and at the Scottish Qualifications Authority.
