Next Generation Rail is a conference series aimed at bringing together early-career researchers and young professionals already working in the rail industry or planning to join the rail community in order to share ideas, promote collaboration and support innovation.
Taking place 27 and 28th June in Sheffield, this year’s event is being hosted by University of Sheffield’s Transport Innovation Centre (TICS) and industry partners.
About the event
This year’s event carries the theme of Journey into the future. With a packed programme full of interesting activities which look towards the future of the rail industry. This will include:
- A series of interactive workshops focused on three main themes: Innovation in Rail Engineering, Intelligent Mobility and Professional Development
- Networking and team-building activities to promote professional development
- A choice of technical site visits in Doncaster’s Rail Cluster, including Hitachi and the HS2 College
Who’s it for?
- PhD students, early-career researchers, young rail professionals and apprentices, in order to promote interaction between tomorrow’s rail leaders and educators
