Best Young Researcher Award

Rail Research UK Association and IMechE Railway Division have joined forces this year to find the UK’s best young railway researcher.

Formerly known as the IMechE Best Young Researcher Prize, this year’s award will look to celebrate the work of a single researcher whose work has the capability to make a ‘significant difference’ to the rail industry.

If you think your own research (or that of another researcher known to you)  meets this criteria, we invite you to submit an entry for the RRUKA Best Young Researcher Award. The winner will receive a prize of £1000, commemorative trophy and also be invited to give a presentation in a specially dedicated slot at the RRUKA Annual Conference in November (where the prize will also be awarded).

Applicants must work for, or within, an institution / company based primarly in the UK and the competition is open to early career researchers and young rail professionals who are members of, (or progressing towards membership of), a professional engineering institution with fewer than 10 years as a chartered engineer.

This is a fantastic opportunity to recognise the work of early career researchers in the industry so we encourage you to  apply / nominate others eligible for the award.
